Robberies now as routine as buying doubles

THE EDITOR: Given the front page photo of a man being robbed on the Brian Lara Promenade, it is clear that robberies in TT have become as commonplace as buying a doubles and now the entire world knows it.

I can assure that I will no longer be patronising any doubles vendor, because the doubles box has become a hot spot (no pun intended).

What a scandalous state of affairs where we like to boast about street food and promote the culture of the doubles vendor, but so many of them have been murdered or robbed, and now their customers, standing innocently waiting in line, can be jumped on to have their chain snatched.

Do we say it's due to bad parenting, absent fathers, any of the plethora of excuses? Where is the Black Lives Matter movement? What does it have to say about the ten men launching an invasion of the New City Mall?

You can't even buy a doubles in peace. Well done, TT, take a bow.
