The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians' Organisation announced the death of calypsonian and gospel artiste Denyse Plummer on Sunday.

She was 69. 

In a Facebook post the organisation said her legacy was etched in the annals of TT's musical legacy. 

"Her journey from singing in the Holy Name Convent choirs to ascending to the pinnacle of the calypso world is an inspiring testament to her dedication and perseverance."

It added that she shattered barriers and paved the way for female calypsonians. 

The release listed her achievements, including the Calypso Monarch and Calypso Queen crowns. 

It said her impact on the country was immeasurable and her memory will  forever resonate in the hearts of those who witnessed her artistry.
