Trinidad and Tobago's under-14 girls team suffered their third straight loss at the ongoing Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Girls Under-14 Challenge Series at the ABFA Technical Centre in St John's, Antigua. Tuesday.

TT were hammered 5-0 by Puerto Rico, their second defeat to that team in the competition.

The Marlon Charles-coached team opened with a 3-0 loss to Puerto Rico on Saturday, before going down lost 1-0 to Jamaica on Monday.

TT were dealt their heaviest defeat of the tournament, as a 3-0 halftime deficit turned into a 5-0 spanking by the end of the 70-minute match with second half goals being conceded in the 43rd minute and just past the hour mark.

After the Jamaica match, Charles had pointed to improvements from their opening match.

Speaking to the TT Football Association (TTFA) media on Monday, Charles said, "I was pretty happy with the girls. I love the fight and the fact that the girls are trying to fight."

"A lot of the girls are still scared and they're a little nervous still. But we continue to work and we continue to show the effort that we ask them to do. The improvement I saw from the first game (vs Puerto Rico) was mainly the defensive line. They are communicating much better with each other."

TT were beaten by a 44th minute penalty in the Jamaica match, where Charles said that his defensive midfielder was left too isolated during the contest.

"One of the problems we need to solve and we continue to talk about it is the midfield," Charles said. "If you look at the number six (defensive midfielder), sometimes she's alone in midfield and we are trying to get the number eight (midfielder) and number ten (attacking midfielder) to stay with her and play.

"Right now, we are struggling with that but they are young players who are still understanding the game at that level," Charles said. "As I keep saying to them, (these) are their first international games and they must learn from it."

Having been dealt three defeats in four days, the mettle of Charles' young TT squad will be tested on Thursday when they engage the "Reggae Girlz" in their final match of the series.
