THE EDITOR: Open letter to President Christine Kangaloo.

As a citizen who has fond memories about growing up in the Cascade area of the 50s and 60s, I humbly implore you to exercise your influence in rectifying the deplorable state of the cherished area at the corner of Queen's Park East and Belmont Circular Road.

Once graced by the presence of the beloved Belmont Cafe and embellished by a majestic silk cotton tree, this corner now stands as an unsightly dump, its former glory obscured by rampant overgrowth.

The Cascade Valley – along with the peaceful neighbourhoods of St Ann's and Belmont – has regrettably witnessed a disheartening decline over the years.

It is my sincere hope that by addressing the restoration of this landmark corner we can start a process that elevates not only this specific area but also the entire surrounding region.

Your stewardship has the potential to rekindle the spirit of community pride and contribute to the revitalisation of these historically significant districts.

With heartfelt respect, I beseech you to consider the revitalisation of this corner as a vital step towards ushering in a brighter era for Cascade, St Ann's, Belmont, and beyond.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our great nation.
