Boy, 8, stable after begin shot in chest

An eight-year-old boy is currently in stable condition at the Sangre Grande Hospital after being struck by a stray bullet on Friday night.

According to police reports, the incident occurred while Kalum St Bernard was with his mother, Numi St Bernard, who heard multiple gunshots where they live in Valencia.

Shortly after, Kalum complained of a burning sensation on the upper left side of his chest, and his mother discovered he had a gunshot wound. She immediately took him to the hospital where he received emergency medical care.

The police have confirmed that the child's condition remains stable and he is showing signs of recovery. An investigation is underway.
