Melly Rose nominated for Caribbean Music Award

Soca artiste Melly Rose has been nominated for a Best New Artist of the Year at this year’s 2023 Caribbean Music Awards. Machel Montano is also set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at this same event.

The awards is being held on August 31, Kings Theatre, Brooklyn.

There are several categories including Mas Designer of the Year, Artist of the Decade and Collaboration of the Year for soca, reggae and dancehall.

In a release she said, “It's an absolute honour to be recognised among esteemed artistes in the Caribbean music industry. I'm deeply grateful for my fans' support, inspiring and motivating me every step of the way."

Spice, Mr Killa, Patrice Roberts and Popcaan were among the artistes nominated across different categories.

Haitian rapper, musician and actor Wyclef Jean is expected to host the event.

Amazing was released last year.

The show speaks to positivity, being kind to neighbours and showing love to each other.
