Despite the occasional bad weather, a Carnivalesque atmosphere enveloped Charlotteville, on Monday, with lively drumming, singing and dancing as they hosted their 2023 heritage presentation, Natural Treasures Day.

Charlotteville Natural Treasures Day is one of the most keenly anticipated presentations of the which began last Friday and will run until August 1. Monday’s event began shortly around 10 am with a lively procession from historic Fort Campbleton, a hill located along Campbleton Main Road.

Before the procession, THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine gave a brief address reminding those gathered that the trek which will be both educational and informative, will also be long.

“Literally every aspect of our lives is touched on during the course of the day. It is a long trek so if you’re able to do some exercises, then you’ll be burning some calories but I am afraid that as you’ll be burning the calories, you’ll also be putting it back in from the lovely treats that are there for you to participate in.”

He congratulated the team at Charlotteville who was responsible for the presentation saying what was planned for the patrons to experience.

“Immerse in the experience and just learn as much as you can from the experience.”
