The death of Rakeeb Mohammed, 49, of Legal Trace, Penal, is being classified as accidental, pending an autopsy.

His niece, Karissa Sarjusingh, 21, told the police her uncle was in his yard repairing his red Mercedes Benz trailer truck around 2.30 pm on July 18.

She said Mohammed was under the vehicle, registration TBJ 9625, when a jack which was supporting the weight of the truck slipped.

Mohammed was taken by ambulance to the Siparia Health Facility for treatment, but later died from his injuries.

His body was taken to the mortuary of the San Fernando General Hospital pending an autopsy.
