THE EDITOR Emancipation Day is coming. Election day is coming. The king of the Ashanti is coming and we are happy to have him.

Now is a good time for the Emancipation Support Committee to ask the Prime Minister about the Bridget Brereton report on the naming of historic places that was supposed to be submitted last December.

Kwame Ture (Stokely Carmichael), an internationally famous Trinidad-born civil rights activist, should be celebrated in the country of his birth. The Government seems afraid to name the street on which he lived after him.

Maybe we should have Ralph Gonsalves of St Vincent as prime minister.
