CENTURIES by debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Rohit Sharma kept India in control at the end of day two in the first Test match against West Indies at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica on Thursday.

India, starting the day on 80 without loss in their first innings, closed day two on 312/2 with a lead of 162 runs.

Jaiswal batted for the entire day ending on 143 not out off 350 balls, an innings which included 14 fours. Sharma, who combined with Jaiswal to put on 229 runs for the first wicket, was dismissed for 103 off 221 balls. He struck ten fours and two sixes.

Debutant Alick Athanaze (1/33) and Jomel Warrican (1/82) were the only wicket-takers for West Indies.

Day three bowls off at 10 am on Friday.
