Trinidad and Tobago recorded their first win of the West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 Men’s 50-Over Championship on Monday by earning a six-wicket victory over Guyana, courtesy the Duckworth Lewis method.

At Arnos Vale Playing Field in Kingstown, St Vincent, Guyana batted first and scored 146 all out in 40.1 overs. Thaddeus Lovell top scored with 33, Shamar Yearwood scored 29 and Rivaldo Phillips 20.

TT spinner Andrew Rambaran shone with the ball as he bagged 4/27 while Ronillester Perreira claimed 3/8.

In reply, TT looked good in their chase and got to 136/4 in 38 overs before the match was stopped because of rain. The Duckworth-Lewis method was implemented to determine a result and TT emerged victorious.

For the first time in the tournament, TT’s batsmen showed some resistance as openers Kyle Ramdoo (37) and Justyn Jagessar (31) top-scored. Skipper Rajeev Ramnath scored 21 and Kyle Kissoondath 16.
