THE Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 men’s cricket team remained winless as their round three match against Windward Islands in the Rising Stars Under-19 Regional 50-over tournament ended in a no result because of rain at the Park Hill Playing Field in Colonarie, St Vincent on Saturday.

The match started late and was reduced to a 26-over match because of the weather.

Batting first, TT posted 123 all out in 24.4 overs with Kyle Kissoondath hitting one four and one six in his innings of 28 off 31 balls. Kyle Ramdoo was the next best batsman for TT scoring 19 off 29 deliveries.

Kervin Gassie was a handful for the TT batsmen grabbing 4/32 in 4.4 overs and Devin Tyson picked up 2/27.

Windward Islands would have been the more disappointed team as they seemed set to chase down the total when rain ended the match. The home team got to 62/1 after 9.2 overs with West Indies Under-19 captain Ackeem Auguste and Reshawn Lewis on 27 not out and 22 not out respectively.

In other round three matches, Jamaica defeated Leeward Islands by six wickets on the Duckworth-Lewis method and Guyana got past Barbados by 54 runs also on the Duckworth-Lewis method.

There are still two more rounds remaining in the 50-over tournament on Monday and Wednesday before the start of the three-day tournament.

TT will be aiming to bounce back in the three-day tournament as it is unlikely they will win the 50-over title.
