Young, Finnish ambassador discuss energy

Energy and Energy Industries Minister Stuart Young discussed energy-related matters with Pertti Ikonen, Ambassador of Finland to the Caribbean.

Young discussed the opportunities and potential for TT to bolster energy security to Finland and other European countries through locally produced products such as liquid natural gas, ammonia, methane, urea and urea-ammonium nitrate.

They spoke at the 45th regular meeting of the conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community on Wednesday, a release said.

Ikonen also shared information on Finland’s energy transition and the composition of the country’s power generation mix which includes nuclear power and an increase in renewable energy from hydrogen and wind turbines.
