The Ministry of Health received 5,760 doses of the Pfizer covid19 vaccines at 7.20 am on Thursday, the ministry said in a release. This was a donation from the Greek government through the Covax facility.

The ministry advised that these vaccines are suitable for individuals 12 years and older and encouraged those who have not yet been vaccinated or boosted to visit the facilities as these vaccines will be available from Wednesday.

It also added that the SinoPharm vaccine for those 18 and over (expiring September 13), Johnson and Johnson vaccine for those 18 and over (expiring July 31) and the Pfizer vaccines for those 12 and over (expiring September 30) were available.

The Pfizer vaccine will be available at all health centres in St George West, St George East, County Caroni North, County Caroni South, Victoria, Nariva/Mayaro and St Andrews/St David from Monday to Friday.

It will also be available in St George Central at the Morvant and Maracas, St Joseph health centres (Monday to Friday), in St Patrick from Monday to Friday at Point Fortin, Cedros, La Brea, Palo Seco, Penal Rock Road, Siparia, Erin, Fyzabad, Penal and Oropouche. While in Granville will have access on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Chatham, Tuesdays and Thursdays and Guapo, Monday and Friday.

As for Tobago, at the Canaan, Scarborough, Moriah and Roxborough health centres it will be available from Monday to Friday.

Although the WHO has declared covid19 is no longer a public health emergency, the virus continues to circulate although with less severe illness.
