A 17-year-old boy was gunned down by men pretending to be police officers on Wednesday afternoon.

Police reported that Marlon Paul was with another vendor near the Tumpuna Road traffic lights when a car load of men pulled up and opened fire.

Paul and the man were both shot. The teen died at the scene while the man was taken to the Arima General Hospital, where he was listed as critical.

In an unrelated killing, a 41-year-old Belmont man was shot dead while at home. Police said at about 6.30 pm on Tuesday Nigel Walker of Behamie Lane, Belmont, was found dead on his couch after relatives heard gunshots.

Police gave no motive for Walker’s killing, while the death of Paul is being categorised as gang related.
