Boy, 14, among 3 charged with Aranguez home invasion

A 14-year-old Laventille boy is among three people who have been charged in connection with a violent home invasion which occurred on April 8, at Ramlal Street, Aranguez.

A police media release said the 14-year-old boy of Block 22, along with Sendell Neptune, 27, of Kerr Trace, Laventille, and Trevor Barton, 19, of Nelson Street, Port of Spain were charged on April 15 with multiple offences, after extensive investigations by detectives of the Barataria Criminal Investigations Department.

Each suspect has been charged with three offences of robbery with violence, two offences of assault with intent to rob, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm and ammunition.

On the night of the incident, police were alerted to the report by residents who assisted in tracking down the suspects as they fled.

Police intercepted a getaway vehicle and shot dead Rekel Rahim Mason, of Eastern Quarry, Laventille during a reported shootout.

Investigations are continuing.
