Oliver Harragin, Jack Brown clash in Catch U-12 final

OLIVER Harragin and Jack Brown advanced to the final of the boys Under-12 singles category at the Catch National Junior Tennis Championships 2023 at the National Racquet Centre, Tacarigua.

Harragin and Brown won their semi-final matches on Wednesday. Harragin emerged with a tough 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 victory over top seed Josiah Hills, and second-seeded Brown dispatched Sebastian Plimmer 6-1, 6-1.

The top seeds in the girls Under-12 singles Abba Campbell-Smith and Makeda Bain eased into the finals. First-seeded Campbell-Smith defeated Cyra Ramcharan 6-0, 6-0 and second-seeded Bain got past Suri Ramcharan 6-1, 6-2.

In the girls Under-14 singles quarter-finals, Madison Khan sealed a spot in the final four with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Cyra Ramcharan. Naomi Mohammed also advanced with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Campbell-Smith.

In the semifinals later in the day, Gabriella Prince got past Em-Miryam Campbell-Smith 7-6, 3-6, 10-3. Khan sealed a place in the final with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Mohammed.

Matches also took place in the doubles category.

The finals will be held on Thursday from 9 am.
