TWO men were murdered in separate incidents in Ste Madeleine and Charlieville on Saturday.

In the first incident, Aaron Maloney, 40, was shot dead outside of his father's home at Manahambre Road, Ste Madeleine around 12.01 am.

According to police reports, Aaron had bought food from a bar nearby.

He was eating outside of his father's house when he was approached by a masked gunman who shot him several times before the gunman fled into some nearby bushes.

"It's funny. I read papers years ago with this sort of thing and I love to see movies."

Maloney said he and Aaron were never close.

"He never used to stay one place. He really used to keep on moving." Two weeks ago, Aaron came to Maloney's house and was staying with him.

Maloney said Aaron spent 11 years in the United States and was deported to TT in 2013.

He added that Aaron used to work as a private security guard.

In the second incident, a 28-year-old Saleem Deen was at his workplace, Varoun's Auto, at Narsaloo Ramaya Marg Road, Charlieville around 11.30 am, when three men armed with gun, entered the premises, and shot Deen several times before they fled in a waiting vehicle.

Deen died at the scene.

He was also a director at D's Car Boutique Ltd , an auto accessories dealer in St James and a race car driver.

When Newsday visited Varoun's Auto, workers and friends of Deen who were there declined to comment.

Several cars were seen on the compound of Deen's home at Deen Ul Haq Avenue, Charlieville as well as outside the compound.

None of Deen's relatives were available to comment.

Some men who were waiting outside the premises also declined to comment on the incident.

Chaguanas Mayor Faaiq Mohammed said he did not know Deen but knew his family had an auto supplies business in Charlieville.

He described Deen's murder as tragic.

"Guns are very easily accessible in this country and it's a cause for concern."

Mohammed lamented, "We see so many murders happening by the way of the gun."

He called upon National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds "to figure out a way to get all these guns off the streets."

Mohammed also appealed to Hinds to find way to stop illegal firearms from entering TT.

Police investigations into both murders are continuing.
