THE EDITOR: Open letter to the CEO of Caribbean Airlines, Garvin Medera.

I’ve been travelling by the national airline since it was BWIA, with a few glitches here and there. However, I think this problem with CAL is more than a glitch, this is a danger to passengers and ground crew.

I am disabled and cannot walk up or down the steps at the airport in Tobago, where I reside. So, I have to be carried up and down on a wheelchair.

I do not appreciate the manner in which I have to board and deplane CAL aircraft in Tobago. I am surprised that the airline has so little regard for my safety and its workers. It is 2022, however, the airline has not devised a safer way to address this problem. Are you aware of this issue? Has CAL even thought about it?

In the first place, if the young men accidentally slip while carrying me we will all go tumbling down and be injured. Believe me, the CAL may not be able to cover the lawsuit that will result. So, I’m depending on you to correct this situation as soon as possible.

Or maybe a reader can suggest a solution.

Hoping to hear from someone soon.
