Trinidad and Tobago miss out on volleyball medals at CAZOVA

TRINIDAD and Tobago had to settle for fourth place in the Under-19 women’s category after losing in straight sets to Suriname in the third place playoff in the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association Championships at the Southern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Pleasantville, on Monday.

Suriname won the first set 25-14 and jumped out to a two-set lead after winning the second set 25-8. Suriname completed the victory with a 25-12 win in the third set.

In the men’s Under-21 category, TT lost in straight sets to Haiti and finished fourth overall.

Haiti eased to the win winning the match 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.

Haiti sealed gold, Suriname earned silver, Jamaica copped bronze and US Virgin Islands were fifth.
