Rangers aim to extend lead at Ascension

TERMINIX LA Horquetta Rangers will be aiming to extend their lead in the Ascension Football Tournament on Friday when they entertain Real West Fort United in the second game of a double-header at the La Horquetta Recreation Ground, Arima.

Rangers have a tally of 32 points from 12 games, and they are the only unbeaten team, in the ten-team competition. Real West Fort United, on the other hand, are in eighth spot with 11 points.

This game is carded for 8.10 pm, following the encounter between the table-proppers – ninth place Central FC (six points) and Moruga FC (one points).

On Saturday, second-placed Defence Force will try to keep their title hopes alive when they square off against the struggling Cunupia FC, from 7.15 pm, at the Arima Velodrome.

Defence Force and Police are on 27 points, but the Army-Coast Guard combination have a superior goal difference over the lawmen.

Deportivo Point Fortin, who are in fourth spot with 24 points, are set to face seventh-placed Central Soccer World in the first of back-to-back matches at the Arima Velodrome, from 5 pm.

At the Police Barracks in St James, on Sunday, from 5 pm, Police will entertain fifth-placed AC Port of Spain.
