Man, 49, caught after snatching cellphone

A 49-year-old Arima man did not make it very far after he snatched a man's cellphone and tried to run away on Saturday morning.

Police said the 23-year-old victim was walking on Farfan Street, Arima, at around 8.30 am when he felt someone grab his cellphone from his back pocket.

When he turned around he saw a man running away.

He chased the man and subdued the bandit a short distance away.

He brought the bandit, who is expected to be charged, to the Arima Police Station.
