Soca Kings win again in T10 Blast

SOCA Kings continued their winning form with a nine-wicket win over Fine Choice Steelpan Strikers in the TT Cricket Board Dream XI T10 Blast at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, on Wednesday.

Soca Kings made it two wins on the trot after earning their first win of the competition on Tuesday.

The match was shortened to a five-over per side contest because of rain.

Strikers scored 48/2 in five overs with Teshawn Castro leading the way with 27 not out off 17 balls and Adrian Ali hit 13 not out. Bowling for Soca Kings, Shiva Sankar grabbed 2/6 in one over.

In response, Soca Kings wrapped up the win after getting to 49/1 in four overs. Kirstan Kallicharan struck 26 off 12 balls and Jason Mohammed ended unbeaten on 14.

Ahkeel Mollon was the lone wicket taker grabbing 1/4 in one over.

The second match scheduled for Wednesday between Scorpion Titans Blue Devils and Fides Ltd Scarlet Ibis Scorchers was abandoned because of rain.

The tournament continues on Thursday with matches at noon and 2.30 pm.
