Score for Cancer, Pro Series win Republic Bank titles

SCORE for Cancer and Pro Series were among the teams to win titles when the Republic Bank Youth Football tournament continued at Nelson Mandela Park in St Clair, on Saturday.

The players had to endure muddy conditions after rain on Saturday morning.

Score for Cancer won both the girls Under-15 and Under-19 categories.

In the Under-15 division, Score for Cancer competed against COFA I and COFA II.

Score for Cancer defeated both COFA teams to emerge with the crown.

In the two-team Under-19 age group, Score for Cancer finished ahead of COFA to win another title. In the Under-14 boys semifinals, Pro Series got past Scufa by default and Queen’s Park outlasted Cardinals 2-0.

In the final, Pro Series defeated Queen’s Park 3-2 on penalties after the match ended 0-0.

In the Under-19 boys division, MIC Tigers beat Moka Boys 1-0 in the first semifinal and Futgof advanced to the final with a 1-0 win on penalties over Macoya Tigers. The match ended goalless.
