ZNS Construction Crew 1 were crowned champions of the Paharry Sports Club’s one-day cricket competition after defeating ZNS’ second team at Paharry Recreation Ground in Sangre Grande on Tuesday.
The victorious team pocketed a $5,000 cash prize and challenge trophy. Their star player, West Indies Under-19 representative Anderson Mahase was adjudged man of the match, best youth player and best all-rounder.
The competition comprised 15 teams - Fishing Pond Crew, Blazers, Hard Drive, Paharry United, No Fear, ZNS Construction Crew 1, Posion, Valdaz, Jiggie Auto, Antz Auto AC, ZNS Construction Crew 2, Extreme 11, Cricket Corinthians, Apiro United and KP Block Boys.
Poison and Blazers shared third place.

A statement issued by organisers said, “We would like to thank all the teams, supporters, villagers and businesses that helped in this year’s success as we continue to build bigger relationships.” It added that promoters are currently in the process of hosting “another one-day cricket competition within the year, with grand prizes of $10,000 (winner), second place $4000 and third place of $2000.”
