The operator of an excavator is warded at the Scarborough General Hospital, Tobago, after it toppled while he was working on sloping terrain in Sandy River, Mason Hall.

The incident, which was captured on video and posted on Facebook, is said to have occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said the man, who appeared to be seriously injured, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance a short while after the incident.

There were initial rumours that a woman was also injured in the freak accident but this was not true.

Investigations are continuing
