Sangre Grande man gunned down during robbery

Police are investigating the murder of a 28-year-old man in Sangre Grande on Tuesday night.

Police said Jimmy Thomas was liming near a bar along the Eastern Main Road, near Boodoo Circular, at around 9 pm when two men approached and shot him several times.

The men reportedly stole Thomas's gold chain, then ran away.

Residents in the area heard the gunshots saw Thomas bleeding.

Police from the Eastern Division Task Force and the Sangre Grande CID took Thomas to the Sangre Grande District Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II is continuing enquiries.
