T20 Festival bowls off at National Cricket Centre

QUEEN’S Park Cricket Club (QPCC) and Central Sports, which played in the final of the Sports and Culture Fund Premier I 50-Overs final on Sunday, head their respective groups when the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board T20 Festival bowls off, on Thursday.

The Parkites will be bidding to add the T20 trophy to their cabinet. Group B will also include the QPCC second XI, PowerGen Penal SC and Preysal SC.

Central Sports will have revenge on their mind, but must first make it out of Group A comprising Profilbau Victoria Utd, Clarke Road Utd and Alescon Comets SC.

Two matches will be played daily at the National Cricket Centre Ground at Balmain, Couva from 11 am and 3 pm respectively.

In the first match on Thursday, Central Sports will come up against Profilbau Victoria Utd while in the other contest, Clarke Road Utd will face Alescon Comets.

The Premier II clubs will also be part of the T20 festival.

On Wednesday, the respective winners of the four Premier II groups will battle in their semifinal round of competition.

Overall winners of the Premier I T20 Festival will collect $80,000 with $40,000 going to the runners-up. Losing semi-finalists will get $15,000 each.

Champions of the Premier II will pocket $40,000 and the second placed team gets $20,000. The losing semi-finalists will each collect $10,000.

The finals of the Premier I and Premier II divisions will be staged on May 13.
