ALTHOUGH police found what they believe to be human remains in an area overgrown with bushes on Thursday in Reform Village near Gasparillo, relatives of missing Princes Town mother of one Khadijah Flament, still continued the search for her.

Newsday spoke with her mother, Anastasia Flament, 44, who met with Homicide Bureau Region III police on Friday, hoping to get information about Flament’s disappearance.

“I cannot say if the bones are hers. Police did not show me the remains as yet,” she said by phone.

Depending on the condition of the remains, the mother of five believes she would be able to identify her daughter.

“She had her daughter’s name tattooed across her chest. She had boyfriend’s name one of her leg, the letter “K” on her left shoulder. She had other tattoos,” Anastasia said.

Anastasia has been actively involved in searching for her daughter.

“We got curfew passes, so tomorrow we (search teams) would be out again searching. Her body could still be out there. We are not sure the remains belong to her,” Anastasia said.

“We will return to Usine pond (in Ste Madeleine) in the morning. People were searching in Princes Town today.”

Up to Friday afternoon, police said they could not confirm if the bones were those of a human or an animal.

Flament went missing on June 7, after she left her home. Relatives said she went to visit her eight-year-old girl who lives at Olera Heights in San Fernando.

A female nurse detained and under police guard in connection with Flament’s disappearance was taken for medical care at the hospital on Friday afternoon.

She has been in home-quarantine at Olera Heights in San Fernando since last Saturday.

When Newsday visited the apartment complex on Friday afternoon, there were scores of medical personnel and police outside the woman’s apartment.

Residents said the woman had just been placed in an ambulance which sped off just as Newsday arrived.

Residents said the woman had been screaming all day and opened her window to reveal her naked self to passers-by at some points.

Investigations are ongoing.
