A Tobago woman died at a bus shed near Buccoo Junction, Shirvan Road, on Wednesday.

She has been identified as 39-year-old Dalia Cleopatra Jack.

An eyewitness, Wellington Phillips, who lives in the area, said he was dropping off some mangoes at a neighbour’s house around 4pm when he heard the woman crying and moaning.

“I realised she was having difficulty breathing and she was rolling on the ground,” he said.

Phillips said two other people were also trying to ease Jack’s discomfort.

He said she was offered water but did not drink it.

Phillips said he immediately called the Shirvan Police Station and Emergency Health Services.

He said while driving earlier in the afternoon, he had passed the woman along the roadway.

“She was walking from the Bethel area and I was surprised that she ended up in the bus shed.”

Police told Newsday Jack also made a distress call to the emergency response team. But by the time they arrived, she was unresponsive.

Investigations are continuing.
