A St James man was expected to appear virtually before a Port of Spain magistrate on Monday charged with the murder of 22-year-old Kallel Caterson of Tobago on April 25.

A police press release said Shakiyl Parris, 25, of Dibe Road, Long Circular, was charged on Sunday after police got instructions from acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Joan Honore-Paul.

Caterson’s headless body was found near a river in St James on April 25.

Investigations led by Snr Supt Vena Butler and supervised by ASP Burnett, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region I, led to the arrest of the accused at his home on April 27.

Parris was charged by PC Scantlebury, also of the HBI Region I.
