The Prime Minister has announced further restrictions to fight the covid19 virus by limiting the ability of people to congregate and move about.

These measures will be in place until May 23.

Speaking at a media conference on Monday, Dr Rowley said all food establishments would be closed from midnight, including street and itinerant vendors.

He said he had not anticipated the level of replacement which would occur when restaurants were closed last week.

All non-essential retail outlets will now be closed. In addition, essential businesses may only open between 6 am and 8 pm.

Rowley said the list of essential businesses would be released on Wednesday, and would be the same as those listed in 2020.

He exhorted people not to leave their homes unless they absolutely had to and not to congregate if they did come out.
