Tobago police, along with officers from the Canine Unit, found a revolver, ammunition and compressed marijuana on Sunday in Scarborough.

A police press release said at around 12.20 am, officers went to Hart Lane, Government House Road to execute several search warrants.

But the dogs alerted them to a bushy area obliquely opposite.

They were led to an old wooden structure, where they discovered a revolver loaded with four rounds of .38 calibre ammunition.

Sniffer dog Betty took police to two black plastic bags which contained 1.289 kilos of compressed marijuana.

The exercise was co-ordinated by Tobago Division head Snr Supt Anand Ramesar, led by Sgt Stewart and supervised by acting Sgt George.

No arrests were made.

PC Thorpe is continuing enquiries.
