The TT Cycling Federation (TTCF) has announced a six-member team for the forthcoming Junior Pan American Track Cycling Championships which pedals off in Mexico from May 31 to June 6.

Phoebe Sandy, Makayla Hernandez, Raul Garcia (all of Madonna Wheelers), Devante Laurence, Ryan D’Abreau (both of Arima Wheelers) and Sylese Christian (PSL) were selected by TTCF’s racing committee to make their Junior Worlds debut.

This announcement, on Friday, follows two days of assessment meets, in April, at the National Cycling Centre in Couva, which allowed youngsters to race individually and meet certain competitive criteria.

The team will be managed/chaperoned by TTCF president Rowena Williams, coach Gregory Dandrade and mechanic Elisha Greene.

Additionally, D’Abreau also took part in TTCF’s January assessment meets and was able to secure the lone place on TT’s Junior World Track Cycling Championships which gets under way in Egypt in September.

Since his confirmation for Junior Worlds, D’Abreau has started a GoFundMe account to help offset some of the costs associated with the trip.
