PoS cops hold 3 – cash, drugs seized

AN early morning exercise in the Port of Spain Division on Friday led to the arrest of three people and seizure of a quantity of drugs and cash.

Police said members of the Port of Spain Task Force, Port of Spain Intelligence Unit, the Belmont Operations Unit and the police Canine Unit went to a house on Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots, at around 5.30 am where they found 7.4 kilograms of marijuana, 23 grams of cocaine, TT$29,901 and US$20.

A woman who was at home at the time was arrested. Police then went to Concession Drive, Sea Lots, where they arrested a man for a report of a robbery in the Northern Division.

During their search, a 30-year-old woman cursed at the officers and was promptly arrested. A firearm selector was found and seized in an abandoned lot of land in Sea Lots. The selector, police said, is a component used to convert a pistol from semi-automatic to fully automatic.
