THE Prime Minister will hold a televised media conference at 2.30 pm on Thursday from the Victor E Bruce Complex in Tobago, according to a post on his Facebook page.

This will be Dr Rowley's first such briefing since emerging from isolation after contracting covid19. He spent the period from April 6 to his recovery on April 26 in isolation at the PM's official residence in Blenheim, Tobago, under the care of medical professionals from the Tobago Regional Health Authority.

This morning the PM reportedly chaired a meeting on covid19 with the ministries of Health and National Security. Yesterday 223 new covid19 cases were recorded in Trinidad and Tobago.

Recent events which the PM may opt to address include the spread of covid19 amid reports of a threat to the Covax supply posed by the pandemic raging in India; the discovery of two caches of high-powered weapons and ammunition; reports of the murder or assault of several elderly citizens; and ongoing relief efforts for volcano-hit St Vincent.
