The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) has started a humanitarian effort to help the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines who continue to be affected by the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano.

TTMA president Tricia Coosal commented, “Members have donated generously both through the TTMA and in their own capacities to assist those affected. Over 100 member companies open-heartedly gave through the efforts of the TTMA.”

Coosal also noted, “Despite challenges the manufacturing sector continues to face, we are always grateful to be able to help our fellow men in times of crisis. The sector has a track record of supporting humanitarian causes such as we did in the past with Haiti, Dominica and here at home in Trinidad and Tobago – assisting those severely affected by flooding.”

For SVG, generous TTMA members supplied canned food, dry goods, water, water tanks, cleaning products and equipment, personal care items, hand sanitiser, utensils, mattresses and personal protective equipment.

In a press release on Wednesday, the TTMA thanked all members who donated towards this effort as its membership continues to be willing to be of service to those in need, both locally and regionally.
