Water wasting in Woodbrook for 3 weeks

THE EDITOR: I must comment on what has become a deplorable situation concerning a water leak on my street.

While I understand to some degree (at least what we have been told) the situation with WASA, I find it unacceptable that I reported the leak on O'Connor Street in Woodbrook on Good Friday and to date, three weeks later, absolutely nothing has been done about it.

Water is coming up from a crack in the road and flowing freely down the drain since my first call, when I was told by the person who answered that "it usually takes about two weeks to be attended to." Well it has been three weeks now.

The sad part is when I mention this to friends they simply shrug and say "good luck with that." Imagine there are areas in the country without pipeborne water and we who are lucky to have it must watch it literally flow down the drain.

I made another call on Monday to “WASA Leaks" and got a recording saying that "your position in queue is number 34." That just tells you how many leaks are being reported daily. Needless to say there must be erosion taking place below the road surface.

What can I say but "ah well, welcome to paradise."
