A Plymouth labourer was injured in a shooting incident in Tobago on Monday.

Reports are that around 9.51pm, Akiel Balgobin, 30, was washing his vehicle at Jaegers Street in the company of a male friend.

Police said a Diahatsu jeep with three occupants pulled up alongside the men.

Two of the occupants, dressed in dark clothing with masks, came out with guns drawn.

Balgobin and his friend ran as the assailants began shooting.
