Headless body found in St James

Police found a headless body near a river bank off Upper Dibe Road, St James. Investigators are now trying to establish the person’s identity.

Police said between 7 pm and 9 pm on Saturday, a resident of Upper Dibe Road heard a crashing noise in the bushes near his home.

The resident checked in the road near his house about 20 minutes later and found a trail of blood leading to the river.

He called the police and pointed out the areas where he found the blood. Police searched the bank and found the headless body which they described as dark skinned.

Homicide region 1 is investigating.
