THERE WILL be no fans allowed at the Santa Rosa Park, Arima on Saturday for Race Day Eight of the Arima Race Club (ARC) 2021 season.

The ARC, in a media release issued on Friday, said, “the facility will be closed to all patrons on Saturday. Only stakeholders who are required for the running of the races will be allowed entry to the compound. They include members, owners, trainers, jockeys, grooms and racing officials.”

The media release continued, “the management of the ARC has taken this decision in light of the roll-back of restrictions related to the control of the covid19 virus.

“As a responsible institution, the ARC must support the efforts of the Government to combat this pandemic and the Club encourages race fans and the general public to do their part by observing the relevant protocols in the strictest manner.

“The ARC apologises to patrons for this action which is considered necessary in the circumstances,” the media release continued.

“Patrons are also reminded that electronic betting from any location remains available through the MBet and telephone betting capabilities provided by the ARC. The (races) can be viewed live on Flow channels 998 and 999 while the local events will also be available on TV6.”

As far as the races are concerned, Arsalan is hugely fancied to record his third straight win, in the second of two feature races (race six) – for three-year-olds rated 60-45.

In the other feature race (race three), for three-year-olds and over, rated 90-70, it will be a battle between Wise Guy, Regal Intension, Affirmative, Commanding Fashion and Desert Dancer.

Post time for Saturday’s seven-race card is 1.10 pm.
