Over the last three days, 77 people were ticketed for not wearing masks.

Of these, six were arrested after they were found at Matura Beach, Salybia. They are between the ages of 27 and 45 and were spotted by police on the beach between 6 am on Wednesday and 6 am on Thursday.

Police also issued 23 tickets to people in the Eastern, Central, Northern, North-Eastern, and Port of Spain Divisions for failing to wear masks.

Between 6 am on Thursday and 6 am on Friday, 54 people were also ticketed in the Eastern, Central, and Northern Divisions for failing to wear a mask, but no one was arrested.

In the latest restrictions, Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh announced a reduction of public gatherings from ten to five, a ban on in-house dining at cinemas, restaurants, and casinos, and limited religious congregations from 50 to 25 per cent capacity. Beaches were closed.

The new regulations came into effect on April 14.
