Double homicide in Moruga

Police are investigating a double homicide in Moruga on Tuesday night.

They are yet to identify the bodies of the two male victims.

They were gunned down on the Penal Rock Road in a forested area shortly after 11 pm.

Residents said the victims are not from the area.

People from Santa Maria Village told Newsday they heard gunshots around 9 pm. Initially, they paid no mind, thinking it was hunters in the forest.

Around 11 pm, they heard that two men had been shot and killed. A car was nearby.

Residents had seen the car, which they did not recognise, in the area on Tuesday afternoon.

Homicide Bureau Region III and Moruga police visited the scene.
