The Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) has announced that 35 people, primary and secondary contacts of the Prime Minister, are in quarantine in Tobago.

The announcement was made by County Medical Officer of Health at the THA Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development Dr Tiffany Hoyte. She was responding to questions from reporters during a news conference hosted by the division on Tuesday.

“We would have had a total of 35 contacts here,” she said.

“Those persons have been tested and the majority of the results have been received and are negative. Some persons would still have results pending and persons continue to be followed up. “Remember that the incubation period is 14 days, so although persons test negative now when we test them initially, we follow up to see if they have developed symptoms during the incubation period. And if they do develop symptoms, those persons would be retested.”
