7,146 get vaccines in five days

There have been 7,146 vaccinations for covid19 in the past five days since the national programme began on Tuesday, the Health Ministry announced on Saturday. However, this has been another death and 59 new cases, it added.

In its update, the ministry said deaths were now 146 and active cases rose to 513.

The 59 cases, which took the total to 8,382, reflected samples taken between April 7 and 9.

The ministry said 7,723 have recovered from the virus so far. There are 45 patients in hospital, eight in step-down facilities, 384 in self-isolation and 299 in state-quarantine.

A total of 115,591 people have been tested to date at private and public facilities.
