La Soufriere volcano erupts again

THE UWI Seismic Research Centre has said the La Soufriere volcano in St Vincent and the Grenadines has erupted again.

The volcano first erupted on Friday morning and did so again at around 2.45 pm.

Evacuation is still under way in the north of St Vincent, around the volcano.

In a Facebook post, the research centre said, "Plume could be seen from the capital. The vertical ash column is estimated to have gone approximately four kilometres into the atmosphere. We continue to monitor and update."
