Was the Prime Minister at a gathering over the Easter weekend at which covid19 protocols were not being observed?

Unity of the People leader Nickocy Phillips asked this question in the wake of news that Dr Rowley had contracted covid19.

Rowley is said to have had flu-like symptoms on Monday and subsequently tested positive for covid19.

In a WhatsApp voice note on Tuesday, Phillips said: “It is very unfortunate that all protocols were followed and everything was in line. The question is, how could the Prime Minister contract this covid19 unless there was some party or some unofficial gathering that we don’t know about?"

Phillips had also heard Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis is in quarantine at home after being exposed to a recent primary contact of a covid19 case.

“That means a lot. If the Prime Minister is over here, if they had a gathering and the Chief Secretary says that he has to quarantine himself, that means there was a gathering that we don’t know about.”

Phillips added: “At the end of the day, this goes to show that the law applies to everyone and if it is that people cannot gather, people (are) supposed to wear their face masks, they (are)supposed to do the right thing – that applies to both the Chief Secretary and Prime Minister as well.”

Phillips said although they may be on opposite sides of the political fence, he wished the prime minister and Chief Secretary a speedy recovery.
