Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) political leader Watson Duke has said all government ministers and members of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) should take the covid19 vaccine immediately.
He did so on Tuesday after news broke that the Prime Minister has contracted covid19.
A statement on his Facebook page, on Tuesday, said Dr Rowley had tested positive for the virus and is in isolation.
It said Rowley began experiencing flu-like symptoms on Monday and was subsequently tested.
In a WhatsApp voice note, Duke said: “I wish to ask God for a speedy recovery for our dear Prime Minister Dr Keith Christopher Rowley and to so advise that all government ministers should immediately move post-haste to take the vaccine to protect themselves, their permanent secretaries and all persons within their ministries.”
Duke said all members of the THA should do the same.
“They should take the vaccine post-haste and protect the administrators and the persons within their departments.
“It is amazing how things can happen and we need to prevent the ‘amazingness’ by taking charge now.”
THA Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis on Tuesday announced he was in quarantine at home as he was a primary contact of someone who has the virus.
