Man gunned down in Penal

JEREMY Morris was murdered in Sunrees Road, Penal on Saturday night. According to reports, the murder happened around 7.30 pm when Morris was shot several times. When contacted on Sunday, officers at the Penal Police Station and the San Fernando Homicide Bureau confirmed that the murder happened.

They declined to give any additional information about the victim or the incident, but a source close to the family, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Morris was 18 and was visiting relatives in Penal at the time. "He had such a sweet face as a child...a little mischievous in the earlies," the source said.

The source said Morris sometimes stayed with relatives in Pleasantville but declined to give an address. According to the source, people heard gunshots and Morris' relatives found him dead on the ground when they went to investigate.

The source said Morris had some trouble in school and at home but people who knew him found he was respectful to them. "Life has a way of never allowing certain people to escape their beginnings.Jeremy was one. I saw him last year in a passing elections motorcade...collected a hug from him...I will always remember him fondly."
