Three more deaths, 46 new covid19 cases

Two days after Trinidad and Tobago received its first batch of AstraZeneca covid19 vaccines, the Ministry of Health recorded three more deaths.

The death toll is now 145.

In its 4 pm update on Thursday, the ministry also said an additional 46 people had tested positive for the virus. There are 309 active cases at present.

The new cases bring the total number recorded since March 2020 to 8,072. Of these, 7,618 people have recovered.

Six people are in step-down facilities waiting to be discharged, 23 patients are in hospital, 234 people in home isolation and 378 in state quarantine.

A total of 110,530 samples have been sent to testing sites.
